Curcuma zedoaria was categorized of herbaceous plants with rhizome roots that are embedded in the ground. The form of Rhizome Curcuma zedoaria is long oval-shaped, with diameter of about 0.5 to 1.5 cm, and brown skin color of shiny, slippery and very thin. These plants can be classified as annual/seasonal crops or more than one season.
For breeding
Curcuma zedoaria can use from the shoots of roots. Previously rhizome roots that will be used as seeds stored between 1-2 weeks, to get through dormancy and storage area must be dry and not hot / protected. It is stored with the laid in a protected place / not hot, or it can use the shelves of bamboo. Selection for seedling root rhizome selected from seeds that are old and have a shoot between 2-3 units. Eyes shoot every good seed amounted to 2-3 eye.

Favorable planting time is during the beginning of the rainy season, so the availability of water at the beginning of the planting can be guaranteed.

Spacing for monoculture
Curcuma zedoaria, usually about 20 X15 cm. . To cultivate it, by putting into the planting hole as deep as 5 cm. Which require attention is the treatment of post-planting crops either with softening soil, fertilizing and weeding. This is to ensure that shoots of plants will grow to perfection until the plants grow strong into adulthood.
